Keeping her finger on the pulse of the industry, Barbara founded the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Chapter of NEWH (Network of Executive Women in Hospitality) in 1990 (now known as NEWH The Hospitality Industry Network (www.newh.org). She has continued her dedication to the organization, serving on the board, and now on committees, in various capacities. Her current term on the founding board of the East Coast Chapter of ILHA, the International Luxury Hotel Association (www.theilha.com) began in March 2020 and will run through March 2023.
